Cam Question
Cam Question I pulled a cam out of a used ls1 i bought and was wondering if anybody could tell me something about it . I tried searching the numbers but no help , I believe its a custom cam
the numbers that are stamped are 2870 A , and a stand alone F
then there are numbers that are etched and they are
V9348
3714/3715 HR 115+3
If someone could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated

3714 Lobe (Intake) = Xtreme RPM High Lift (Comp Cams)
Specs are:
.006 .050 .200 Lobe Lift 1.7 Valve Lift
275 222 140 .332 .564
3715 Lobe (Exhaust) = Xtreme RPM High Lift (Comp Cams)
Specs are:
.006 .050 .200 Lobe Lift 1.7 Valve Lift
277 224 142 .334 .568
The Xtreme RPM High Lift are otherwise known as "XE" lobes. The cam has a 115 LSA with 3 degrees of advance ground in (112 ICL).
I'm think the other number is just a S/N, but I'm not 100% sure.

When you start getting up in the higher lsa in aftermarket cams yes your are looking at fi (turbo,sc) application, or just a smoother idle almost stock form. Usually the FI cams are in the 116 117 LSA for higher rpm range.
