I have 243 heads, but they are cut and CNC'd by TEA to 61cc chambers. Cam 224/230 with Caddy Lifters, GM MSL Head Gaskets 7.350 Push Rods.

You really have to measure to get the right PR length for your app...too short you got a nice sewing machine, too long and you will have some float goin on.

MEASURE is the best I can tell ya.

Depends on the base circle of you cam too. Not all cams are the same size. With my heads milled .020" intake contact was at 7.315" on a 224 comp lobe.

I've got 243's milled .008", GM MLS head gaskets, LS7 lifters, EPS 226/234 cam, running 7.375" PR which puts me at .090" lifter preload. Measure your setup, it's the only way to be sure.

What valves are you running? IIRC, LS6 valves are .050" longer to accomodate the smaller base circle on the LS6 cam. Otherwise, if a valvejob has been done, or the valves have been sunk at all, your results will vary.

It sounds like you have enough pushrods to make anything work, and as long as your measurement at 7.3500 takes lifter preload into consideration, you should be fine.

Good luck!

so i start messing around with installing push rods. i put a couple in and rotate the motor to be sure it looks good.
hhhmmmm, what the hell the exhaust valve is hung open a bit. check it out, move the pr's to the next hole, set it up rotate, same thing. start bashing my head against the wall, i just didnt get it. call my buddy over he looks at it, we go to another hole, same thing. take it apart start really looking at ****.
in my box of 16 push rods that are suposed to be 7.350 there are 3 push rods that are 7.450 unreal!!! i messured the 7.400's and they would work for me to atleast fire the car up. cranked the car till i saw oil pressure, tossed the plugs in, hit the key and boom, fired right up.
sounded good. open headers tho so i got to run it for about 4 min till the lady next door had a bird.
put it up changed the oil and went to put the new tranny in and ****. the bell housing hits a couple of the rear bolts. oh well. gonna have to grind it out a tad in a couple spots.
getting close tho, ordering a new yoke today, i think my old drive shaft should work
