Default head/cam swap

Ladies/gents, planning to perform a head/cam swap on a 130,xxx mile '00 ls1. Both cam/head are used items w/ low miles (of course they are. they always are). My Q is, i will purchase 918's and 7.425 pr's,but is there a need for new ret./keeprs,lifters and timing chain.

The cam is a tr224-112. Heads are untouched '02 ls6 (243). The car is not a dd. Will see track strip.

Any other advice is greatly appreciated.

If it were me, at 130,000 miles I would definitely change lifter trays, lifters, timing chain, oil pump and upgrade your rocker arms with comp cams trunion kit. It will save you alot of time and money if any of those parts happen to go out after the install. It will also give you peace of mind not worrying about the what if's.

Also, make sure you know what length pushrod you need to have instead of guessing.

Basically, the kit replaces the cageless OEM needle bearings and metal trunion with a 8620 steel alloy trunion and caged roller bearings. This kit will keep your OEM rockers from puking out tons of needle bearings upon failure. If it fails.
