intake water inlet broken off...help

first off this is on a 1998 gmc yukon vortec 350...i dont think that is a ls1 but the intake should be similar.

i was changing the intake gasket and the heater core hose nipple broken off flush with the intake, how do i get the broken part out? I was told that is very common and they sell a tool to remove it

any ideas?
