Lifter Question for Tool
I currently have Comp R lifters and was curious as to what you guys use when doing a cam swap so they don't fall? I was looking at the tool offered by sponsors, but it says it will not work with Comp R lifters????
Thanks

Well I don't know if we just got lucky or if what we did worked. We didn't have any 1/4 rod available, so instead we use 1/4" copper SOLID coated electrical wire. Slid right in and worked great. Like I said, don't know if we got lucky or what but installation went without a hitch. Total time for the cam swap was 4 hours including time to eat the pizza. Thanks for the input guys.
I did a cam install on a 99 this weekend, and had to run to Sears Hardware to pick up some 5/16" steel rod. I welded little handles on 'em (ain't that cute), slid 'em in, and they worked like a charm. Next time I decide to swap cams in my car I'll see what it takes with Comp R lifters
Hmm, that'll only be cam #5 ....
