Default Budget boost LS1 short block question

I plan on going turbo in the near future and want to put together a short block that can handle about 600 rwhp. The car is a 99 SS w/M6. I plan on driving the car quite often. I'm guessing that I'll be runnin about 14-16 psi.

My question is, how does stock crank, rods and forged Wiseco pistons with steel rings sound with ARP head studs, main studs and rod bolts? Will the rods hold or should I spend the $500 on new ones. I'm thinking H-Series rod and main bearings too.

Thanks for any input.

Stock crank is good to 1,000 hp, but I would throw a forged rod in with the new pistons. What heads are you planing on using ? I would shoot for 9.5:1 compression if this is going to be a street driver.

Ok. Well for the rods I was thinking Eagle H-beams. The Compstars might be overkill for the price difference.

For heads and cam I've been looking into LS6's. If I get the heads ported I'm gonna get a turbo cam and if I don't get them ported then I'm gonna just use a stock LS6 cam. Or would a LS6 cam be just fine???

9.5:1 compression is definitely the goal. Are gapless rings good for boost? I guess you wouldn't get any blow by with gapless rings right???
