PTV Question(s) Okay so here's the deal. I have a stock bottom end H/C/I/E 98 camaro, i had a problem with a bent valve that connected with my number 2 piston. Without putting other pistons in it or flycutting the stock ones what can i do? I found a website that sales Head Shims but has anyone used them? Im using GM Performance racing head gaskets currently, i was told by a few guys at my local race shop that i can stack them to gain a few thousandths if i use Copper coat in between the layers... Is this legit? Also how much room will i need to make up?
Mods: TSP 5.3 2.5 heads, MS3 cam, ls6 ported intake, stock block (flat top pistons)

Yeah i was kinda on the fence about the stacking thing but i think if i put a shim in between them they will seal alot better, especially with that copper gasket spray on em.

Did you order the heads and cam at the same time? If you did they usually sink the valves a little for that cam too clear.If you didnt you could have the valves sunk to clear.Did you degree it in when it was installed?If not, you might be able to retard it 2 degrees to clear if it was tight on the intake and had more clearance on the exhaust.Give TSP a call on Monday.I would Not run a double head gasket.
I ordered them at the same time but not through TSP, i went through a local speed shop and ordered them... I will call them and a machine shop or two tomorrow and see what can be done...
I have heard of people running this setup with no problems but its just my luck that broke something on my DD that i cant fix over night lol And to make it worse, i broke it when i puled it into the shops parking lot where i was going to dyno tune it...
