Should do rebuild or new stroker block???? Ok guys I blew my clutch tuesday at atco so brought the car back tore everything apart...so was trying to figure if its worth rebuilding my ls1 or get a stroker block from a sponsor... what would be my options not in a rush just need some opinions since I have the car all apart an the motor has 160k miles
I just went through that same dilemma and decided Im most likely just going to order up a 402 and be done with it. The cost for a forged rebuild of my LS1 in a few of the shops around me was about $3400, or I can just order up a brand new LS2 402 for less than $1K more AND still keep my current motor and use that to help supplement the cost by parting it out or selling outright.

Yeah that was my first idea cause adding everything up is getting close to a new block thats already done... Plus Im am not in a rush my baby is not going anywhere anytime soon
upadate well picked up a complete 04 lq9 for 9 bucks with 40k miles gonna swap heads with some l92's an throw the cam i have in there an maybe spend the cash an get a fast intake or just go with a L76 intake for now..Next project is the trans gotta rebuild that also cause the shift fork is toast...gonna be while till she is done but gonna be done right ..looking into a 12 bolt also
