hey guys, i got a 6 speed ls1 it just started making a loud ticking/clicking sound ... the car runs fine, it still pulls strong, doesn't overheat, no check engine light on, idles normal, revs up fine, oil pressure seems to be fine although the needle does move staggering (don't know if it's just the needle or it's cause of this noise never really paid much attention to it till now) ... what could be causing this? something definitely sounds wrong! ... any help???

Could be a bunch of things. Can you upload a video? Could be anything from lifters to exhaust leak.

check your spark plugs and make sure they are screwed in all the way

I wouldnt rule out your ignition arcing somewhere. Run the car in the dark and look for any flashing around your plugs/wires.

I dont think its this ^^^^ because he said its running fine. I changed the wires and plugs on a friend of mines 1998 Z28 because of this and it still makes the noise. I think its lifters on his because he has 178k of hard miles on his. I told him run it till it pops! 6spdSS is the noise coming from the top or bottom of the motor?
