Default PP Stage III heads are in and on....

Well got the heads today, bolted them up and got everything else together and she fired right up. Going to get the exhaust hooked back up in the morning. I went from Stage II 5.3's to Stage III LS6's. I will post a video clip of the exhaust sound and info after I tune it and get it on the dyno.

Wow, those look really good.

Is that your daily driver? Is your block a 346? The reason why I ask is because I've seen that some manufacturers recommend stage 3 heads for a larger displacement block.

Looks good though - post up a sound clip.

Yes the car is my daily driver, the only main diff between these and the stage 2's are he intake valve sizes. Went from a 2.02 to a 2.055, you can get the stage 3's in a 2.08 but that in my opinionn is too big for the bore size of a 346, I feel the 2.055 is the perfect size, just my opinion tho.

Heads look great. I just got my stage II LQ9's the other day too but for some reason they don't say Patriot on the side like yours do. Wonder why?

Were these heads flow tested? Just curious what the numbers were.

I will have to look in the box and see if there is a flow sheet or anything like that, probably not tho.

And Sly made the install look to easy. He really knows his ****. Car did indeed fire right up. Sounded very mean with open headers. Now I want heads.

They should cay "Patriot" on the exhaust port side and also should have LS6 where the casting #'s used to be. If not, call Terry and ask him about it.

Sly, Great looking heads and we look forward to hearing it and getting some dyno #'s soon.
Don't you just love opening that box and seeing a "brand new" set of Patriot heads instead of someone elses "trade-ins" that have been shipped across the country 10 times and are beat to hell before finally getting ported and shipped to you!

Very nice!! I know the feeling when u get those nice, clean looking heads with the Patriot logo on them. I'm happy with mine! I regret not stepping up to the LS6's though.

I took the car out for a ride today after getting the exhaust hooked back up, I gotta take it back in tommorow because there is a small exhaust leak however the car is still learning the new setup so it dies out a lot if you don't give it a little gas. This is also my first time to drive it with my new wheels, SFC's, and Yank SS4000 all I can say is WOW, I went to pass someone at 40mph and just touched the throttle a little, next thing I know I was going by them with the rearend sideways spinning! I don't know if it's the converter, or the heads or both but the car is INSANE! I have gone WOT yet, still gotta put another 98 miles on the converter. I will get some video clips this weekend of the exhaust and setup.

I'd like to also thank Brian and Josh for coming out and lending a helping hand and keeping my company while putting the heads on. Thanx again guys, and hope to see you out tonight!

That really builds confidence about the product. That really sucks considering I have an appointment to have them put on Monday. I emailed him because the site says they are closed on Saturday... Wish I could find out what the deal is. Wonder if this is an old set that doesn't have the dual quench. Makes me wonder if they have the problematic springs, etc.

what color are the valvesprings? do you have pics of the combustion chamber? I can tell you what they are, also look on the head where the casting numbers go right below to the side of the valve covers, on the left side should be stamped in small print "Patriot" and on the right side should be stamped "ls6". Just because yours don't say patriot near the exhaust ports doesn't mean it's not or it's old, I had a set of their first 5.3 stage II heads and those said patriot near the exhaust ports. I really wouldn't worry about it too much, Terry has the best customer service from any shop I've been to and they definately won't do you wrong. If you really really need to get in contact with them, let me know I am their webmaster (designed their website) and have other means of getting ahold of them.

Don't mean to hijack you post, sorry. The valve springs are bronze in color.
Don't have pics of the combustion chambers but I will get some. No small print Patriot or LS6 on either head anywhere. Honestly these heads look like they were mounted on something before... Thanks. Nick

Some of the heads lately will not have "Patriot" on the side.I engrave the name on there. The tool Iyse to do this broke and it took me a couple of days to get another one.Other than the name is gone there is no difference. Thanks,
