JD's Performance (vendor) just did my Vette. With LS1 heads I was able to put down 460/420 STD and 448/412 SAE with full exhasut, all belts, water pump, no under-drive pulleys) My cam is hydraulic and sounds wild. I took my car from SC to PA to have the work done. The heads are where you will find the power. Great low power as well. Really fun to drive now. Give him a call at 215-938-9270 and tell him Crazy George said Hi!

i seen both heads, and by the looks of it, more TLC has gone into making the AFR head, the patriot head looks like the cutters on the "CNC" are dull and was dragging insted of cutting, if i can get ahold of a digital camera, i can snap a few shots of the heads we have around at work, there is also a "C5R" head laying around, but i think the AFR LS1 head will own both, save and buy the AFR heads, i would

my set came like that too but i attribute that to trying to atomize the fuel better...i may have some pics but the exhaust side is smooth in comparison can anyone lend an opinion?

Ummm you don't want a smooth finished intake port, I'm sure they did that for a reason as is the reason foff667's exhaust ports are smooth, smoothing the exhaust ports (especially the last inch before they exit the head) helps to build torque. A smooth/polished intake port is not desireable.
