What all is involved in building up an engine for boost? Pistons, rings, compression, ? As far as parts go, what all is involved?

I may have some ring issues with my current turbo setup...compression test is coming...I def have a lot of blowby.

So if I have blown a ring or a ringland and I need to replace something, I might think about doing other stuff while the engine is out to save labor...just an idea
