Default Engine Build Suggestions

Alright guys, I just found out I'm getting about 4000 to build my motor. In case you didn't see my other thread, I have a hydrolocked LS1 with a cracked block. I don't know if the heads are usable but I probably wouldn't want to run them on the new motor anyway. I'm thinking about going with a LQ iron 6.0 and a 408 stroker kit. A guy locally is selling a LQ9 Engine that basically needs rebuilt. No accessories or anything. Comes with the block, internals, and heads and it's 700. I could get that then a 408 rotating assembly for about 2000 and have all the machining done at a local machine shop then stick with the stock 317 heads and get a good size cam. I figure all of that would put me around 3500 and leave room to get a LS6 intake. This is kind of my thinking but anyone have any better build suggestions? Basically, if you had 4000 to build a motor how would you do it? Eventually I'd like to upgrade to L92 heads and a FAST 102 but my budget definitely won't allow that for now so I'm trying to figure out if there is a cam I could run that would run alright on both sets of heads? I'd be happy with about 450 rwhp. I eventually plan to run nitrous so that's why I'm favoring the iron block.

One last question, I know to run the T56 from a GTO in a LS1 that you'd have to change a few parts on the transmission. I can't seem to find information about this for the iron block though. Will I need to change anything on my LS1 T56 to run a LQ9 with forged bottom end? Thanks in advance for any advice and sorry for all the questions. There are so many options out there lol
