Default Head Swap Questions

1. Should I replace my stock lifters?
2. I'm running a cam with 4* advance ground in. Will I need to back it off with an increase in compression?

I'll assume your car is an '02, correct? If so, no need to change lifters. The stockers will do fine. I am only going to swap mine because I have almost 65K on my car and since the heads will already be off, I figured what the hell.

I think you may getting timing advance and cam advance mixed up. The cam does not dictate the timing, the PCM does. Now, you may need to adjust the PCM timing for the bump in compression but you'll need a scan tool or other to determine if you are getting any knock retard. If you're using a pump gas friendly CR, the chances that you'll need major adjustments are slim.

Yeah cam timing vs. ignition timing, two different things.

I know the difference between ignition timing advance and cam advance. I had the cam ground with +4* to make up for the lack of compression. Now that I'll be installing the Patriot Performance Stage II LS6 heads, I'll have the compression I was looking for before. I don't want it to be too much.
