oil pump/pressure problems-Fixed..... Ok, I purchased a 5.3L from LKQ good or bad it doesn't matter. Supposedly 62K miles, removed heads, and stock cam put in Thumpr and 243 heads. GM muscle car oil pan going into chevelle.
Installed in car had zero oil pressure. Decided that if i am going to go to the trouble of making sure the pickup tube is sealed correctly i am going to replace the oil pump and installed pickup tube girdle from BRP. I am confident that the tube and pump are sealed up at this time. Spend 3 god damn hours getting the pickup tube bolts installed but finally got the damn thing in and tightend both bolts up on the girdle. (did not remove engine from car)
STILL NO F'n oil pressure. Intalled mechanical gauge on back of engine block and have no oil going up to the heads period.
I am ready to light a match except the garage is below my kids bedroom!
In my mind the oil galley plugs are all in place.
HELP!!!!!!!
