When my heads were off recently, I noticed the cross hatch hone marks in the cylinders were completely gone! My neighbor even commented that those are the smoothest bores he had ever seen...
The car had 39K on the clock at the time....
No oil consumptionm blow by or other oil consumption issues... actually the car runs great...
...Am I worring amount nothing or I'm I about to become an oil burning rat?

The running great makes me think your ok, but you should be slightly down on power with the extra surface contact from ring to cylinder wall that you get in this condition. This is a sensitive thing since great seal and ultra smooth ring travel pays off in warding off ring flutter= Power.
I do think its unusual you have that smooth a finish at your mileage, did you have any fuel washing tune issues for any length of time?

You should be good for now but, in the long run it might get worse leading to blowby and oil comsumption. With your mileage you should still have good cross hatch on teh cylinder walls.
Thanks,
Thanks,

my recent test on my fairly new forged ls6 was around 170 compression but I have -2cc valve reliefs. Heads are 59cc and milled .050 as with a TR230.
