LS1 vs. LS6 Heads?

I have an opportunity to buy a set of 2002 LS6 stock heads. My current LS1 heads are ported and flow 280 CFM In. and 208CFM Ex. @.600. How much more power can I pick up w/the LS6 heads if I have them ported as well? I will keep the current cam (224/228).

Current power level: 408rwhp 397rwtq

Are the LS6 heads worth 25 more hp & tq?

15-20 more hp is more likely due tot he smaller combustion chamber.

sup man I think 20 will work for ya.

I thought the LS6 heads had smaller combustion chambers than the LS1's do which would help CR and they flow bwtter too.

There is much power to gain with LS6 Heads if you have the right Head porter do them for you.I had a set of 02 LS6's done with stock 01 valves and got 300cfm at .550 lift.Now he's porting in some 2.02 valves.
