i would go with the tr224 on a 114 for what you are looking for. it can be tuned to almost a stock sounding idle but you will get some decent gains

You will need tuning with just about any cam you go with that'll make you power. Seems from your statement you have a misconception of LS1-Edit anyways. It's a good thing when done by the right person. That alone sometimes will net ya 10 - 20 HP. If I were you and wanted to go middle of the road I'd get either a 221 or a 224 duration cam. Make it worth your while. Might as well drop the whole 6200 thing. Your cutting yourself way short of what that STOCK bottom end will hold.

I got a 224/581 cam with headers and LITTLE bolt-ons....and it is a daliy driver 6-speed.
I am close to the 400rwhp range with stock heads. Call up a well know sponsor on this board like speed inc....They have done tons of these set ups and will take good care of your needs. Oh yea I love to scare those new cobras to ,,,good luck
