recently, i have noticed that my motor is running unusually high oil pressure and seems to bog down under WOT. or at anything over half throttle when in first gear. i use pennzoil full synthetic oil, but my gauge is reading about 80psi at half throttle. anybody have any ideas, perhaps the bogging and oil pressure dont go together and i have 2 problems, but it didnt happen until after i put a new lid and stuff on. any ideas help people, i'm terrible at trouble shooting. car only has 60k miles and is an m6. shouldnt be any internals wearing out one wouldnt think.

 

A couple of things to consider/try:

- The gauge is screwed.

- The oil filter is restricting. Damaged, or need for a change?

- Oil pump relief valve is sticking. Time for a new pump, or pump rebuild.

Try changing the filter.

If you can, buy/borrow/rent a mechanical guage and install a sender on
the motor for another reading.

Seeing that your engine also bogs probably indicates a real problem and
not a faulty gauge however. I'd still run out right now and change the oil
filter and see if anything improves.
