Default Open up Chambers?

OK so I have an HKE 403 based LS2 SB on the way. Everthing I can use from my 346 is getting switched over including the massaged TFS 220's for a 3.9' bore.

I spoke with a sponsor about opening the chamber up for the bigger bore but he said the gains would be minimal and he didn't recommend it since the car is not an all out racecar...... My question is what will I be leaving on the table by running these heads as they sit?????

I would say if your chambers were already opened up to the 3.9 bore then I would leave them alone. If they have not then it would help some. You will lose compression for the material you take out of chamber.

That is exactly what I'm thinking. A big advantage of the bigger bore is having more clearance around the valves. I would definitely have the chambers opened up for the larger bore.

You gotta leave them heads alone. You run to fast already. The next thing you know you'll be buying light weight racing wheels. Don't make me put nitros on mine.
I would think you would want the chambers opened up as well.
