Default Heads Question?

Ive been looking to get a new set of heads for my 01 LS1 Z28. I dont know alot about this type of stuff, so bare with me. I already have a hot cam, and im not changing. Im a street guy, so which heads should I go with? Ive been looking at Patriot's, and If I go with them which would be the best Stage II or III? For the dollar, what are the best heads for my car? And Im referring to all brands and heads out on the market.

I would go with the Patriots S2 5.3's! For the price u can't beat it and it makes great power. I'm happy with mine.

how much power would he really gain with heads and the hot cam though. isnt it optimized for stock heads? i dont see a hot cam taking full advantage of the flow power from S2 heads.

I'm only going on from my experience with them The other heads out there are just as good if not better. One can get confused with all of the selection out there.

TEA 1.5's with hand touch ups would be my choice for your application. They will work well with the Hot Cam but power is being left on the table w/Hot Cam.

$2400 bucks eh? definately GTPs S2....rwhp #s dont impress me without track times to back them up. GTPs have been on some of the fastest N/A LS1s. they are pricey, but i promise you wont be disappointed.

i dont wanna flame on several people posting rwhp#s but shitty track times. so i would rather not get into that and not post names. no offense.

Sometimes the core charge can be the deal breaker. It was for me. I sold my stock heads to bring my total cost of the heads to 1K. Yes, it's worth the bucks to go to the Stage 2's.

We sell, RMS, GTP and TEA heads.

Our RMS heads have been putting down good dyno #'s and track times.

A few examples.

99 WS6 auto- 4000vig, RMs Stg2 5.7 heads, 232/240 cam all bolt ons ran 11.31 at 121mph with a 1.57 60 foot time and the only weight out was spare and front swaybar.

our own 6 speed RMS formula with our Stg2 5.7 heads, RMS cam and all the bolt ons has went 10.94 at 124mph in 1300DA with a 1.47 60 foot time. It made 463rwhp/418rwtq

A few other auto's on the dyno made 440rwhp locked with our stage 2 5.7's, 230/238cam. A couple others with 222/222 cams made 410rwhp/400rwtq and 413rwhp/400rwhp locked. No track times for these yet until track opens.

A good example of a customer with GTPs 230/230 RMS cam went 11.26 at 120mph with a 1.50 60 foot time and only weight reduction was spare and frint swaybar. It made 430rwhp/396rwtq

Another GTP headed 6 speed conv(no weight reduction) we did made 430rwhp/400rwtq with a 228/224 cam and ran 12.2 at 118mph with a measley 2.0 60 foot time.

Seen plenty of TEA cars with mild cams make over 415rwhp through 6 speeds and small cams.

All are excellent heads.

General prices are

RMS Stage 2's - $1699 plus core
GTP Stage 2's- $2399 plus core
TEA Stage 2's- $1669 plus core

No results for the AFR's yet but should make killer numbers from the info we have got.

Just some info to ponder. Give us a call if you have any questions. 913-814-RAGE
