Honig a new LS6 block
I just recently aquired an new 1168 LS1-6 block. After measuring my bores, I came up with 3.895 on all bores. Stock is suppose to be 3.898 but this block has somewhat shiney bores. The crosshatching is faintly visible but not like a normal finish hone. Are these blocks made this way normally so the builder can finish hone it the match factoy specs? Just curious if I could get away with a light hone with my trusty ball hone. I might trade my 3.905 pistons for for 3.898 units if I can.
I would not try it with a glaze buster ( ball hone ). Do it right and get it honed by a shop with a deck plate.
I've used the glaze busters on cheapo rebuilds but not on a block that I would keep for myself or garantee.
