Does anyone think the Cometic or Fel-Pro gaskets are better then 2002 metal gaskets?

Nope ... Stick with the stock GM graphite head gaskets.

A head gasket is a head gasket. There are different thickness available, but the gasket itself does the same thing...

I personally do not run, nor recommend the graphite gaskets. They are an absolute PITFA to clean off if you ever have to pull the heads again. I run the 02 multilayer gasket, which is aluminum and pulls right off with no cleaning required...

Everyone I have talked to in the process of finding someone to put my heads on has told me to ditch the Fel Pros I got and go with the 02 multilayers..... Sorry, I couldn't tell you from experience but the shops I talked to are jam packed installing heads and cam on LS1's... Good luck

I agree here, go with the 02 and later gaskets.

I run Fel pro's on 90% of the cars I do.Never a problem and come off easy when doing heads. The other 10% do Cometic.Haven't tried the 02 gaskets yet.

I agree and using the multi layers is just asking for coolant seepage problems.
