Default stock crank rev limit

I have forged rods and pistons. I'm not sure if I can actually fit a stroker inside a porsche 944. So what is the rpm limit on a stock crank? What can i run up to reliable for a good amount of time.

Its not the crank that is the problem its the stock rod bolts. I would not go much higher then 6800 rpm. The stock rod bolts have problems right around the 7000 rpm mark.

I have upgraded everything except the crank. Forged pistons, arp bolts, rods, patriot heads and all that works. I haven't done anything with the mains....when do you have to start worrying about a stock crank and mains?

Any ls1 ls2 ls3 and ls7 is the same size... a 408 is not any bigger than a 347.

With a 944 the oil pan has been modified. I don't think a stroker crank can use that shallow pan effectively. That's why I believe I can't go to a stroker. I know the blocks are the same size.

unless you have really good heads and a big cam, spinning it north of 6800 prob won't make any more power.

If it makes any diff i've been turning my lq9 with a stock crank 7500 through the 1/4 traps for a few years. it has forged rods and pistons with ARP fasteners. It don't make much power past 6900 but I can't make it through the 1/4 with my gear without winding it up. I don't go 1/4mi racing enough to warrant a gear swap...lol
