Default G5X2 or M2 cam?

WHich cam will produce better track times and better low end? As far as gas mileage are they about they same?
Specs
M2 228/234 .609/.598 110(will do on 112)
G5X2 232/240 .595/.609 112

Thanks

I think both have at one time or another held the cam-only record.

Sig check.

I think the G5X2 has currently run faster at the track than the M2. But it is hard to compare cars like that, each is a different setup. I'm going with the G5X2 only cuz I found a deal on a used one.

How much slower would the TSP 231/237 .598/.595 112 be than these cams due to the fact that it is not the an XE-R type lobe? Is there really a noticeable difference to be concerned with?

I like the M2 cam for track use, but if you are going to be a dyno racer, go with the G5x2.

Just for clarity, the M2 is on a 110+2. With that kind of LSA, and advance, the lowend feel will be there more so than ANY cam without advance. The G5x2 is a very peaky cam that produces great track numbers, but its all about setup. Post your mods and that should help in the selection.

The M2 does hold the C5 cam only record.

That's correct and even more impressive is the fact that this C5 cam only record in RWhite's A4 (high 10.80s/cam only) also is considerably faster than any other A4 C5 on the vette forum that is running both heads and cam. In other words, this cam only (stock heads) record also holds the record for all C5 A4s running aftermarket heads and cam also.

No that's not correct, but what is correct is that all the cartek stock cubed H/C C5s running faster than 10.8s are M6s or M12 (Z06 tranny) and there is NOT a cartek stock cubed/bottom end h/c A4 vette that has been documented in the vette forums that has run into the 10s yet!!!! I believe fastest A4 C5 cartek h/c car that is documented runs around 11.20 to 11.30s.

And to be more specific, most if not all of the manaul tranny C5 Cartek h/c cars running into the 10s are z06s with M12 trannys and 4.10 gears. Not to take anything away from CARTEK who i believe puts out just about the best H/C stock cubed ls1 cars on the market!!!!

BRENT,

Knock retard i take it pulled the high 10s a A4 C5 and not a f-body right? If a C5 and stock cubed H/C car VERY IMPRESSIVE INDEED but i'm not to surprised to hear this given the fact how strong you Cartek C5 m12 and m6 guys are running!!!
