Default Stock Rods????

Are the stock rods good for 500 hp and about a 7000 rpm rev?

Connecting rods? Yes they should be ok, but you should upgrade the rod bolts to the ARP bolts

so you have seen or hard of them going to 500hp? Thats awesome, the reason is becuase i am doing a pretty decent build up and trying to stay stock rods and crank. but thanks for the info


Anyone else seen or heard of the stock rods going 500hp and about 7000 rev?

Thank you! Yes I have seen them go up to 700 hp (at the crank). I would probably say that personaly I wouldnt go above 600 with them though. Is this going to be N/A?

I had Stage2 heads, futral F5 cam, Ross pistons, stock crank and rods with Katech bolts, it shifted at 6800 with a 200 shot of TNT and with the way tnt judges their shot size(at the wheels) that had to be about 750-775 hp at the flywheel. Stock rods are forged by the way powdered metal was forged together to make them so I cant see why they would be that weak. If you have an 01-02 model then your stock rod bolts may hold up a little better but if its already apart go ahead and change them.
