Default lifters

i am getting ready to install my eps cam and milled 243s on my 5.3. do i need new lifters or ls7 lifters?

If you purchase new GM lifters, they are the "LS7" lifters. Even if you buy singles (which is WAY more expensive than buying a full set), they will be the exact same lifter as what comes in the set.

Yes, new stock replacement lifters and "LS7" lifters are one in the same.

so does that mean that i need to replace them,or that i can use the ones currently in the motor???

That's an interesting question to ask, given you haven't even told us the age or mileage of the engine they're in...or anything else that might yield a semi-educated guess as to their useability.

If you're just asking in terms of compatibility and assuming they're mechanically sound, then there's no reason you can't reuse them w/ your new cam.

218/222 .595/.597 on a 111+2, motor was rebuilt prior to me purchasing it, but i have 0 idea on mileage on the lifters

How many miles on the engine then? This shouldn't be this difficult.

If unknown, for the cost of a set f GM lifters, just replace them.

If you have a problem with them later, you'll not to only have to buy lifters, but head gaskets, fluids, ect. + your time.
