Default LS9 gasket on LS1

on the ls9 gasket is made for boost. but we have a stock bore LS1. is the gasket to big for the bore.

stock ls1 3.90o bore.
gasket is 4.100

what do you guys think?

lol. ok sure.

i would say i know a lot about the LS. i just didnt know if there was a "common" rule about head gasket only so much bigger than bore.

Bigger bore gasket wont hurt anything except increase the combustion chamber size a hair, lowering compression....then again why would one do this anyway? The opposite though... having a too small of a gasket would allow the fire ring to be exposed inside the chamber and get burned up or not compress and seal right.

so to big of bore is fine. to small is bad.

you can get some gm MLS for 3.908 bore for less then $50.
