Default LS6 Hot Cam I.D.

Hay guys this cam was in my car when I got it and was told it was a ls6 hot cam. I was wondering how to interpret the etching on this cam. The stamped # on it is (2870 A) which is upside down in the pic and hard to see. Thanks for the help.

First, you need to know that theres no such thing as a LS6 Hotcam, theres the GM Hotcam, and then theres the GM LS6 cam which was the stock cam for the 01'-04' ZO6 Corvette. The LS6 cam has .550" lift and the Hotcam has .525" lift with more duration on a more aggressive center line. The cam you have pictured doesnt appear to be a stock cam based off the etchings.

Stock cams don't come with etching in them like that.

Thank you google.
Looking it up, it looks like it is an SLP camshaft. Read the first post on page 5.
