Question Need info on bottom end

I was wondering if I can get as much info as possible on the bottom end of an ls1. Ex how much hp/ torque there good for. The sizes of the pistons and rods. Material there made from. What is a good aftermarket substitue for a N/A engine. Something tht can put out 500+. Nitrous is also a possibility.

Also I was wondering who the admin is I want them
to add 'tapatalk' so I can view this website through an app on my iPhone. It makes things easier. Thanks guys!

Stock bore size is 3.898"

Stock rod length is 6.125"

The stock bottom end is good to 500-550 hp with a safe tune, some have pushed it more but thats usually when people go with forged internals. 500 rear wheel HP is tough to hit on the stock 346ci N/A. If you want 500+ hp with out go gas or forced induction go with a 4" crank to get 383ci VS the stock 3.622 stroke.

I'd love the power of an all motor 500whp over just bottle fed. What is a good rod and piston combo. Also what about bearings, is an ls1 crank decent? I should probably just buy a book.

Chris Werner and Will Handzel both have awesome books on LS engines. They're published by "SA Design". Buy them! About $15 a piece.
