H/C to help build on later???
I know a pulley, clutch w/aluminum flywheel, and gears will help with what the car is for, but those are easy to figure out and I'll do them soon enough.
My question is what head/cam setup would work well for what I'm doing. I'm thinking I might as well not bore the block, so I'm looking for like a 205CC head? With a smaller chamber like 66cc??? I'm all sorts of confused as to all the other stuff that I need light pushrod length and such...but I can figure that out with a call to VA Speed. Also, for a cam....that confuses me even more! NO idea what specs I should be looking for! I have a goal of 450 rwtq, but thats just an idea in my head...doesn't HAVE to happen if it's not practical.
Also, with the intake/tb i have now....i know they're ok but could be so much better. I want to do the H/C and then start going back and doing the FAST 102 intake w/NW 102 TB and really get some more air in. Should I try to factor that into what head/cam choice I make or does it not even matter? Basically after heads & cam are done, the more air I bring in the better?
One the other hand....how much more would it be do it right and get the block bored so I could fit a bigger head on there? The idea of having a 408 just rings in my head....but instead of just doing a stroker I'd want to do it right. Or should I just forget about this idea for now until i can build a whole new motor?
Sorry for the generality, but I have so many gaps in trying to understand all this right now I really need some help.
If your more hell bent on torque, a stroker would be best IMHO. But ask him and see what he says.
If your interested in a stroker, I have an LS2 403 Stroker that I am selling for $5k firm. It has less then 3500 miles on it and has put my car into the 10's at 125 mph (all motor)
Good Luck with whatever you decide.
James
