Default H/C to help build on later???

So I've been reading and reading and reading and reading on here, and honestly I'm just getting more and more confused. I have a 98 Trans Am with stock 346 motor with LS6 manifold, ported TB, & Flowtech LT's. The LT's are getting installed soon anyway. The motor's always going to be NA, and I use the car for DD and autox events.

I know a pulley, clutch w/aluminum flywheel, and gears will help with what the car is for, but those are easy to figure out and I'll do them soon enough.

My question is what head/cam setup would work well for what I'm doing. I'm thinking I might as well not bore the block, so I'm looking for like a 205CC head? With a smaller chamber like 66cc??? I'm all sorts of confused as to all the other stuff that I need light pushrod length and such...but I can figure that out with a call to VA Speed. Also, for a cam....that confuses me even more! NO idea what specs I should be looking for! I have a goal of 450 rwtq, but thats just an idea in my head...doesn't HAVE to happen if it's not practical.

Also, with the intake/tb i have now....i know they're ok but could be so much better. I want to do the H/C and then start going back and doing the FAST 102 intake w/NW 102 TB and really get some more air in. Should I try to factor that into what head/cam choice I make or does it not even matter? Basically after heads & cam are done, the more air I bring in the better?

One the other hand....how much more would it be do it right and get the block bored so I could fit a bigger head on there? The idea of having a 408 just rings in my head....but instead of just doing a stroker I'd want to do it right. Or should I just forget about this idea for now until i can build a whole new motor?

Sorry for the generality, but I have so many gaps in trying to understand all this right now I really need some help.

In all honesty, I would give shawn a call at Va Speed and see what he says. Especially if you are thinking about using him for the cylinder heads.
If your more hell bent on torque, a stroker would be best IMHO. But ask him and see what he says.

If your interested in a stroker, I have an LS2 403 Stroker that I am selling for $5k firm. It has less then 3500 miles on it and has put my car into the 10's at 125 mph (all motor)

Good Luck with whatever you decide.

Yeahi think torque is my goal for now...cause I could always throw more air in for hp...plus I. Really don't ever do the 1/4 mile but maybe 2x's a year....i'd like to hit 11's eventually but that could be achieved with suspension and tires...obviously my rear would need to be swapped before hard launches though. I did email them once but didn't get a response. I'm sire they're just busy so I need to make it a point to go see them or call. They're only a ccouplle hours away.
