Default valvetrain noise question

how much valvetrain noise is normal for a tr230. i was expecting the valvetrain to be louder but it sounds sloppy to me. it is the most pronounced at around 2000rpm and i can also hear it at idle. i set up the valvetrain the ls1howto way. 22lbs then rotate engine 720deg, and 22lbs again. the engine is making great power but the noise is definatly annoying to say the least. any info would be appreciated.

well...I have an mti x1cam and its pretty dang close to the same thing.
I have a "swishing" valvetrain noise....you can only hear it from inside the cab...and not really because I run hooker header with 3" x pipe dumping at the rear axle thru dynomax 12" bullets....

you did it right.....
22 ft-lbs
turn over...double check...
just do something with your exhaust so you cant hear th evalvetrain and you wont care anymore...

Sounds like a room full of sewing machines. Normal
