i am building a ls1 347 for boost and used a few online calculators to figure compression with what i know about the parts.. but i just want to know i am goin down the right path.

is hit me with worry today something might not be right so i would like some input to help me sleep at night...

parts list

TSP LS6 heads 64cc chamber
wiseco -11cc dish pistons
3.903 bore
eagle 6.125 rods
stock stroke 3.622
will be using a MLS gasket with as close to the bore as i can get i think they are like .051 thick..


please help me out everything i have used say right about 9.3:1 and i would be happy with that i just got a dumb feeling that it is higher for some reason

according at what you post i got same results as yours 9.36:1

The stock gasket thickness is .053 from what I've seen. You didn't mention your deck height. .010 out is common for those pistons from what I have read, depending if the block has been decked or not obviously, and the stock ones run .007-.008 out. You need to know this figure to be exact, but at any rate, with .007 out I get 9.45-1 and with .010 out I get 9.51-1, using the .053 gasket calculation.

With all that said, you'll still be fine.

exactly how do you figure deck height? and how far the piston will stick out..... its stock unmilled right now but hasnt been to the machine shope yet.. so it might get a slight mill to ensure its flat.

The deck height is how far in or out of the hole the pistons run.
