Default RM Timing Chain Q. Need Response ASAP!

I've searched for this and didn't find an answer. I'm getting ready to swap out my cam, my question is, do I need to completely remove the oil pump from the engine to get the timing chain off, or can I just unbolt the pump from the block and get the timing chain off that way?

Thanks,
Robbie

Me and a friend of mine just swapped out his oil pump for a ported ls6 pump and the way it looks to me is that the oil pump has to come completly off to get the chain off.

Yes you are correct it has to come completely off! It sits in front of the crank timing gear and chain. Take the four bolts holding the oil pump on and the one on pickup tube, and it comes right off. Hope that helps.
