Default Cam install w/lifter question

I'm looking to do a cam install w/o changing my lifters because my car has low miles and I should be fine. Because of this I won't have to pull the heads or anything so I was wondering what the trick is or tool to use to keep the lifters up while doing a cam swap ? Thanks!

If you crank the engine over before pulling the cam, the lifters should stay up... atleast thats what I have herd.

Thread your water pump bolts into the cam and spin it that will push the lifters up into the lifter trays...then get yourself some 5/16 inch tubing or dowel rod and put into the two hole on the front of the block on both side of the cam...they will keep the lifters from falling into the bottom of your oil pan which will ruin your day if it happens..check out this link it will answer your questions and has photos to show you how to do it.
