Default F1 Cam info please......

Ive heard good things about this cam, but to be honest, i dont even know the specs on it. I wont be buying the cam yet, but im trying to do all my homework now. For anybody who is running this cam, is it driveable? How much horesepower gain can i look at with a lid and some headders on a 02ls1 m6? Just some general info on the cam is what im trying to find. THANKS!

CAM is 112LSA, 230/226 .591/.569 On my 2000SS with STOCK heads, car made 417RWHP which at the time (2 years ago) was the highest dynoing stock headed car around. Car's power band starts around 3800 and makes MAX power around 6300-6500 RPM. Because it is a REVERSE split cam it works especially well with stock heads. I was VERY pleased with the cam and is has a very nice lope to it. If put in an automatic, it probably needs a 3600 stall or higher and with my M6, I ran 4.11 gears. With the M6, I shifted around 6800RPM and it pulled VERY hard to that. You will need tuning to make it run properly. Set REV Limiter up to 7000RPM. I ran 918 springs but now I would probably run ISKY duals. Car was used as a daily driver. This cam will make 50-60HP easy as long as you have good exhaust and intake.

WOW 417 with stock heads! Thanks for the info, i dont have the money for a set of heads right now, but i think these ls6 heads and intake should compliment the cam good enough. I am courios about shifting at that high of an rpm though......is it safe?On the other hand, the power starts up at where i need it, i dont race a lot and i dont want to be wasting power at low rpms, i usually shift a 2krpm when im not racing. Was it too hard to tune?

Actually SPEEDTEK down in my neck of the woods sells the F1. 817-282-0042. Very UNLIKELY you will have any PV clearance issues with this cam unless your heads are milled .030 or more then you would need to check.

This is a great cam, I have had it in the car for 35K+ miles and she still runs strong. Great for a daily driver, but it did need some tuning and gears to get her streetable.
