Default Piston Slap

I see the phrase "piston slap" in many places but no one really explains what causes it or how to fix it.

My engine rattles, or makes a foreign sound, until it reaches around 200 degrees. The sound seems to come from the back of the engine right under the front defogger. Its a 2001 Z28 with 55,000 miles.

GM replaced the rings on all of the cylinders and the bearings under warranty but it didn't seem to do anything.

Can someone please help me? Its driving me crazy and I am about to run out of warranty and don't want to get rid of the car.

Thanks.

I believe that was the fix recommended by GM for piston slap in another thread I read. If you do a search you may be able to find it.
