I didn't have any need to change pushrod length over stock (with stock cam). The ls7 lifters were a direct fit to replace the ls1 lifters

That's because everything is stock on your setup. With preload and everything, you are perfectly fine with your setup. It is my understanding that the LS7 lifters have replaced the LS1 lifters, so if you were to buy one at the dealership for your LS1 car, you would get LS7 lifters - anyone want to confirm that?

This is correct. The original LS1 lifter is no longer available at the dealership. The LS7's are the direct replacement & have been for a few years now.

If we could just get the LS7 name to go away the confusion would stop.
