H/C combo advice
Ok, I'm looking for a head/cam combo for my mainly street car. I'm wanting to run low low 7's(7.0-7.2 in hot and humid iowa weather) in the 1/8th mile. My car is a full weight 3700lb z28. It's A4 with a ss3600 converter, 3.73 gears, slp lid, p&p tb, ls6 intake, 42 lb injectors, arh 1 3/4 and catted y through a magnaflow cb. I currently have a 224/236 .610/.609 111+3 cam on xer lobes. Would this cam and a set of ported 5.3 heads get the job done or would aftermarket heads and a diff. cam be needed for my goals? I want to keep this stock cubes and eventually go forged 347 around 11 to 1 compression(only have 91 near me) and a little spray down the road.
Thanks, Mike
Thanks, Mike

why such a big split? that looks like a cam for l92 heads, anyway, I'd say decide what kind of budget your willing to spend on this, then go from there, also, look at the setups in the sticky in the dyno forum and the power that they put down with each setup.

It's just what I was spec'ed by someone. My guess was for the catted Y and magnaflow exhaust with no cutout. As for budget, I'd like to pull it off with ported 5.3 heads but if this is not possible I will drop the cash for tfs 215 heads. I was kinda leaning towards a new cam on eps lobes and more overlap.

Yeah. They seem to carry the power further instead of the normal sharp drop off after peak. I also read where they are easier on springs. they seem to make great power everywhere in the power band. I just want a setup to reach my goal of a low 7 second(1/8th mile) true street car that I can take on trips.

I have adj lcs, adj trq arm(full length). I cut a 1.80 on 28 in slicks and 3.23 gears but haven't been back with the 26 slicks and 3.73s. I did get a 1.78 on street tires and the 3.73s using traction control though.

Bump for the day. I would like to plan this out, then work the budget to meet the goals. Stock cubes, streetable, 3700lb race weight, stalled auto and a 7.0-7.2 time slip N/A. Is it possible?
