Default ALL S2 HEAD OWNERS!!! Question inside

I was just looking over a set of stage two ported heads and comparing them to my stock ones. Looking inside the intake ports I see that the threads for the rocker arm bolts are showing?? Is this normal or something I should be alarmed about? I mean the runners are all smooth, and then there is this end of a bolt sticking out that has to upset the airflow some what. I threaded a bolt in and it sticks out into the port like a sore thumb.

That's pretty normal on ported heads. I use teflon thread sealer on the intake rocker arm bolt threads so no oil gets sucked into the port.

I'm going to assume that your not planning to run yella terras.? Try taking your stock rocker and bolting it on. With the valve spring on the head with head bolted down and 22 ft lbs of torque on the rocker arm I doubt that the rocker arm bolt will stick out into the chamber........... The LS1 runs a completely different setup than earlier generation pushrod GM motors. The rocker and stud come out togeather with this setup. Once you take one off you will understand what I'm talking about. Check out this link it's got some pretty good pics that will help you see this setup: www.ls1howto.com

Look at the Yella Terra install..... Hope this helps.

Yella Terra's were installed on this car. Doesn't that effect the airflow
