Second best SINGLE roller chain

First off, I have read and read and read and searched for hours on this topic. I have found the Katech (C5/6R) timing chain to be the best single row. Thing is, I'm not going to drop 150+ on just a single roller chain, just because I can't do it. I'm throwing in this cam soon (which if you have seen my other posts, you would already know) and I don't want to keep the stock timing chain in there because I'm running strong springs and a mildly high-lift cam... ANYWHO!

What is the best (other than Katech) single row chain for the LS1?
OR
How can I do an LS2 chain without the slack?

Thanks everyone for your input, I'm having a real hard time finding an answer to this.

Seeing how their are tons running the stock chain myself included with heavier springs maybe you are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

ws6 stores sells a IWIS chain for $50,a little better then a stock chain.

Best chain was the IRL chain. Next was the C5R chain. After that, I would get the LS2 chain.

Really? Well, guess I'm just gonna go with IWIS from WS6 store. No slack issues?

You are better off with the LS2 chain.
