I have a 347 LS1 that has been...uh..."massaged" a little bit. 
Factory block and crank
Diamond Racing pistons
Callies Rods
TReX cam
Patriot Stg. 2.5 heads (243 based) 11:1 compression
Fast 92 w/ Nick Williams 92mm throttle body
1 7/8" headers
T/A put down 490/443 on a tune that is on the conservative side and a 12 bolt with 4.10s. And that is before the nitrous shot.
I drive it everyday. It lopes hard and sometimes is a pain in the *** in parking lots when driving slow, but I love it. Especially when it goes above 3400 rpm.

Like anything else it is relative to what you want and need and what you will put up with. When I think daily driver I want a car to cruise in and take on a cross country trip and maintain good gas mileage. I have my suburban that gets 8mpg I dont want the Camaro to also. lol I do agree with the know it all types and the ones who always have to one up the next guy. They get annoying.
