+1 on this. Roloc discs are the way to go, and are the required tool as listed in the GM general info bulletin on cleaning gasket surfaces. Regular brown "cookies" toss debris into the motor that can cause engine damage. Green Roloc Discs are for cleaning Iron gasket surfaces, and yellow Roloc discs are for cleaning aluminum gasket surfaces.

Hey, that's good to know. I always get crap when using them on Porsche's, last time I had the cams out of a 997 turbo cleaning the sealing surfaces people were freaking out... Lol
