need help with heads ok i just got back from a road trip and my heads sound like they are about to explode when ever i let off the exhaust it makes like a whistle noise and when ever i have the hood popped and rev it it ticks so bad wondering what it is if so what do i do and if i need new heads can i do the gto heads with the gto intake manifold and cam would that workplease give me some input on the matter thanks
I don't know about the whistling sounds but the ticking sound could be something as simple as a header gasket going out or a lifter needing to be replaced. Does the tick speed up and slow down with the revs of the motor? Can you isolate it to one side of the motor?

Yeah I would start by pulling a valve cover and just checking out the valve train. Ticks usually come from something in the valvetrain. If it continues to get worse there is a chance it could be a lifter which would mean a head swap. Do you have any modifications done to the car?
