My TR224 on a 112 peaks about 6100rpms and has a great powerband. This cam is awesome for a daily driver.

Hi guys, i have had the TR 224 112 cam for about 6 months now. I love it too. I didnt have any before dyno #'s but with this Cam, Hooker Longtubes, lid and a pulley i went 7.75 at 92 in the 1/8th, best.

My only visit to the 1/4th i went 12.51 @ 110 spinning with wheel hop through 1st, banged rev limiter in 2nd and hit the brakes early according to my friends. My 1/8th was a 8.2 on this pass. Therefore i know this cam is 11 second possible without a LS6 intake or ported TB. Oh, and i tuned it on a predator.

I peaked at 370 RWHP through a steel driveshaft ( dont ask ) and 363 RWTQ with the above bolt ons. My Peak HP came at 6100 RPMS and only fell 4 RWHP to the rev limiter.
TQ was above 350 from around 2800 - 5000 RPMS.

Hmmm peaking at 6100 on a 112 maybe but should go for the 112. What difference would the 110 make down low?

just get the cam on 112lsa with a 110ICL. my tr230 110.5lsa peaked high, around 6500-6600.

the 112 and 114's might peak low to you 6100-6200 but if you look at the dyno's they hold there power pretty stout till 6500-6600 where you should shift.

I'll have a talk to the cam grinder. What difference would the 110 make low down mid range? At what rev's does the 112 'come on'?

Hey guys just purchased a 224-224-114 also for my a4. Havent installed it yet but from what im reading it seems to be a sweet cam. ET wise what were the gains you guys saw? Also how the top end with this cam? After I put my stall I lost some top end so im looking to try to gain it back.

I haven't had a chance to go to the track. When it warms up some I will let you know. Feels a pretty good bit stronger.

My 224 114 cam makes usuable power all the way to 66XX rpms. I set my rev limit at 6600 rpms and shift at 6500rpms (since I can see a clearly marked line 6500 rpm). Car is a 2002 WS6 M6 with no heads, gears or anything just a few bolt ons that are not relevant to what im about to discuss.

I DO have a problem with my tach reading in first gear! Those guys are right about that! In first gear, if I wanted to, I could let the car hit the rev limit at 6100 rpms according to the tach reading even though my rev limit is at 6600rpms. If I decide to floor it from a 1st gear roll all the way it would DEFINETLY hit the rev limit at 6100 rpms (according to tach reading again) instead of 6600 rpms.

I am using stock F1 tires on my 17" wheel. I *THINK* this tach reading problem is due to TOO much traction loss on those tires and they are just confusing the rpm/tach reading. I think im right about this guess since the only tach reading problem I have is on 1st gear and slightly in 2nd gear. The tach is either too slow or confused because of the traction conditions. Im hoping the problem goes away with the set of nittos that ill be getting soon.

My case could be worse now that I installed the headers but the "tach reading problem" definetly started before i installed the headers on there. Sorry but its true.

Just to give you a clearer idea about this, I drove the car last night and went full throttle all the way to second gear without any gas pedal modulating. I decided to say "the hell with taking my foot off the gas pedal this time". As soon as I hit the rev limit (it appeared at 61XX RPMS) I shifted quick to 2nd and my rpms fell to 4500 and started climbing up from there. Of course, thats not supposed to happen with my cam setup. When shifting the rpms should not start below 5100rpms due to the fact that im shifting at 6500 rpms which are quite high.

The "slow tach case" is not a problem really if you hook up right (i think). If your stock F1 tires and decide to go full throttle from a 1st gear roll you'll just have to "play" with the gas pedal a little to gain traction and your fine. I usually have to guesstimate when to shift in first gear even with some gas pedal modulation as I have a hard time trusting the tach reading as of my setup right now

Hope this long boring post made sense.

Oh yeah and heres my dyno sheet so you guys can BELIEVE the fact this cam DOES make power over 6200 rpms. Pic attached. Sorry its not too clear.

I need a shiftlight too. First gear rev limiter gets me a lot with this cam.

Believe it or not but it was VERY CLOSE to stealthy without headers. Once you put headers on there EVEN with a catted y-pipe you'll hear the mean cam sound.

I like how mean it sounds now, but i kinda wish i stayed with stock manifolds so i can "maybe" pass for warranty issues if I ever needed it. But now with the headers on there the guy that drove my car out to the front from the service department told me "man i love the way you cam sounds"

You'll know theres a cam in there. Car surges sometimes. Shifter vibrates a little more. And ofcourse the valvetrain sewing machine noise (but that is not bad at all).

Its just that these things get your attention and ALWAYS remind you "dude you still have the cam in there and it kicks ***!"

trust me you'll love it. Cant wait till I get to spray on top of my cam and headers setup.

Wanna see what a 100 RWHP shot would do on top of a 224 114 cam with headers and a few bolt ons with some nitto Drag radials?

Here's an awesome link. Check out WICKED SS's videos! :

Cant wait till I get to race my roommates 02 Z06...
He beats me everytime from a roll now. Dont expect you could beat those cars from a roll with just this cam! He walks away from me in 3rd gear!

But we'll see what happens with the 100 shot
