Default build question?

ive been doing a lot or research lately for my build and have been coming up with a questionable answer for one part. heres a breakdown of what i have and what i will be getting

stock ls1 block 2002
stock crank
mahley 16cc dish pistons with valve reliefs 3.905 bore .927 wrist pin
RODS?????
stock 241 heads
TSP's MS3 cam package
all boltons

so my question is im looking for rods, preferably and H beam forged, should i be looking for 6.125 or 6.100 length rods??
according to ls1 techs specs it says 6.098 but it seems like alot of aftermarket rods are 6.125. What would be the issues/positives of running a longer rod?

thanks for any replies, these will be my next purchase to get the ball rolling on part 1 of my shortblock winter build.

I am not sure of the height of the stock wrist pin, but if the new pistons are dished and the wrist pin is higher up in the skirt of the piston, then the 6.125 rod plus your new piston = the same travel of the stock setup

i believe you are right, after comparing my new pistons to stock ones the wrist pins do appear to sit higher, which would take up for the .025" longer rods.

would i have any issues if i ended up buying 6.100 rods and ran them? Would that just net me a lower compression ratio?

what the compression hight on your pistons?if your pistons where ment for 6.125 rods and you use 6.100 ,you piston will be deep down in the bore with super low compression.go to mahley website and look up your piston number and see what rod you should use with them.if you are having a engine builder do the engine for you ,have him get the correct rods.don't buy the cam pkg until you can figure out your static compression ratio.consider the torquer V2 cam it seems to make great power also.if you have 241s heads do a good valve job on them at lest.

compression height on my pistons is 1.314, and i just checked mahles site and it recommends a 6.125 rod length for a stock stroke ls1. I plan on doing a small port/polish valve job on my 241 heads. Im aiming for semi low compression as further down the road(like next winter) i would like to go boosted. So if i can stay somewhere around 9.0-9.5:1 compression that would be good. The pistons i have are also -16cc dish so my compression will be pretty low.
