Default 5.3 head bolts

do the prc 5.3 heads require any special headbolts? can you just use stock replacements? any specific kind anyone would recommend? thanks

I recommend you pick up a set of ARP bolts as they are alot easier to torque than the stock replacements. You don't need them as the new stock bolts will work. I just hate the torque/angle procedure while reaching under the cowl of an Fbody. FYI all heads use the same bolts but the 04-up engine blocks use different bolts than 03 and older engines. The older blocks have two short bolts with eight long bolts and the newer blocks use ten short bolts of identical length. So you need to buy the correct bolts for your block, not for the heads.

i gotcha. thanks for the help. i figured stock replacements would work. but may go arp.
