Gears are just gona take the car longer to shift into the next gear, it will not give it more hp or help out the cam. How bad in gas miles will it be? I dd now and I drive the hell out of it, so i need to know.

Absolutely. Gears help any car, even stock ones. But they particularily help when your cam doesn't make a lot of torque down low, bc gears multiply (increase) torque to the wheel.

So it will help the driveablity of the car as well

Yes because not only does it multiply tq but puts you in the higher band of power on a big stick car quicker

I have a LS2 with VRX5 and TFS 220 heads, and dd my car. My city mileage has gone down, but my highway mileage has stayed around 25-27. I also still have the 3.42 gears in mine. My dyno #'s are listed below, but those are before porting the FAST intake.
