rough vibration at low speeds
Got the call back today and stating that the vibration is because the car is running on 7 cylinders instead of 8. $250 to fix the issue.. i noticed someone mentioned a misfire which is what he said also.. Depending on the cylinder that is misfiring.. is $250 resonable..
I would ask him specifically what exactly is being done for your $250.
Hope that helps.
I picked up the car and drove it and tested it and still has the vibration.. i had him sit in the car with me and i showed him what vibration i meant.. they are going to check it some more.. now since you mentioned the O2 sensors.. i do know that 1 of the cats on the car is bad.. i have new hi-flow cats to put in, but cat find anyone that will do it since they arent direct fit and the amount of space to work in.. which is fine.. i wanted to replace the manifolds with headers, which would move everything down under the car making it easier to install.. and with that i was going to replace the sensors anyway.. but could a bad cat be a suspect in this case?
i mean if i start the car, leave it in park.. and rev the motor up to right under 2k the car vibrates really bad.. could it be clogged cat?

Now let me ask a stupid question. i know that we have a bad cat on the car, i already bought hi-flow cats(universals) but need to get them installed.. by any chance, if the inside material of that one bad cat was broken and clogging the exhaust, could that cause the vibration? im sure its hard for that to happen, but back in my dad before emissions, in highschool we would take the cats off, chisel out the inside to gut them out and put back on the car so they could pass visual inspection.. im just throwing it out there, because once it gets home, it will probably sit a while before we can spend money and time on it to fix it.. and if thats something that could be wrong then ill go ahead and order the headers for the car and make the car install easier and cheaper than the stock location with manifolds.
