The fast 78 is a great intake. Port the tb opening to 85mm and get a 85mm tb it helps the intake out. You can also port the casting flaws out of the runners to help it even more.

I can't comment on the BBK intake due to the lack of knowledge (experience) with that component. However,I do presently run my 383 with a ported FAST 78mm intake and a ZEX direct port set-up. If I recall correctly Tony Mamo posted a few years back that the ported 78mm FAST intake made only five/six less HP than a stock 90mm fast, with the 90mm having a somewhat better throttle response. My best n/a trap speed to date is 127+ mph and 138.64 mph on the nitrous...ZEX is flywheel rated...engine made 146 additional rwhp on a supposed 175 shot. What I am trying to say is that the 78mm ported FAST will support high hp applications with good performance results.

I don't see much change more than a tenth or so and maybe 1-2mph give or take swapping from a stock BBk to a stock Fast 78.

Correct me if im wrong but i beleive there both derived off of the ls6 intake.. Probably will not feel a difference and trap will be too close. Find a deal on a 92 or get it ported.. just my .o2

IIRC the upper shell is the only difference.

Port the tb opening to 85mm, use a paper gasket and a 85mm tb. Port the wedges out of the intake runner ports. Enjoy your "basically a Fast 90" intake.
